She hasn't posted at all in weeks. This isn't for her; I thought various Hatrackers might find it interesting to see that this issue really does come up all the time at some schools.

Give her a break for caring. Maybe she cares to much, or in a way unacceptable to others. The fact is, she cares.

As a college student I see it all the time too. And what bothers me are people who enroll and don't show up to class, who take spots from people who really want and need that class. This is not normally an issue at the lower level classes, where there are hundreds of slots available and dozens of sections, but it IS a problem the further up the ladder you go when a class might be necessary for graduation but only offered once a year.
