I'll go to this movie just to see Jackie Chan and Jet Li in the same movie, but wow, this movie might actually be really fun!

"He's got no Gong Fu.....None!"

I can't find the older thread on this topic, but I guess I'll reiterate.
I've heard good buzz and bad buzz about this movie.
Good: Jet Li was able to force through some changes like *not* having the foreigner become the big hero (he still has a significant role though)
Bad: Jet Li said he had to tone down some aspects of the Journey to the West mythology to make it suitable for western audiences. Also, both Jackie Chan and Jet Li have been hinting kind of negatively, supposedly to turn down expectations about their fighting (against each other specifically) and to emphasize that this is more a film for Hollywood than for long time fans.

So, I'm going to see it ... but I wouldn't want to have very high expectations going in.

Oh I wasn't expecting a big shown down between Li and Chan. In fact I would probably be disappointed if either came out the winner. I did not know that Li made sure the foreigner does not become the hero, I think that's good.

I started cracking up when both Chan and Li knocked the kid over and planted their feet on his chest and Chan said, "First you will learn to respect your teachers!" I know lots of Chinese people have wanted to yell that to a foreigner. [Smile]

Sweet, I completely forgot they were making a movie together. Can't wait.
