I mostly watched him playing General Hammond on SG-1. He will be missed.
Edit: I see this was posted in the Stargate news thread. I guess I shoulda checked there first.

As I said on the Stargate thread,
Horribly, I keep thinking every time I see a thread or post about this, "Has Hammond of Texas fallen in battle?"
I know, so bad. Someone slap me for inappropriateness.

Actually, I think it's singularly appropriate.

He'll always be Major Briggs to me.

Not familiar with that one. He'll always be General George Hammond, to me. I thought he played the part exceptionally well.

Sounds like the world isn't just losing a great actor, but an excellent human being as well.

I liked his acting, especially in the Stargate series.

Thanks for the link, Lyr.

Weird. I used to date a guy named Don Davis (no relation to above). He also died of a massive heart attack.
But yeah, to me, he will always be the guy from Stargate.

Rest in Peace Hammond of Texas. You will be sorely missed.
He was always one of my favorite characters on SG-1. He played the role so well too.
And yeah, KQ, I thought of that quote too. I agree that it is definitely appropriate. Not making light of it at all, but... ah, the word to describe it escapes me.
