This has been in Development Hell for years now... here's a New Yorker article from 2004.

Meanwhile, the rumor mill claims that Benicio Del Toro might play Moe. (They have Johnny Depp as Curly.)

Curly: Jim Carrey (He is supposed to gain 40 lbs)
Moe: Benicio Del Toro

I plan to someday be a hideous, centuries-old amalgamation of decaying organic neural matter transplanted into a crude, cybernetic husk that unnaturally and freakishly extends my operational lifespan and protects what is left of my imperfectly preserved and trauma-warped sapience. And the three stooges movie had better well still be in development hell until after the brainwave detection switch unplugs me.

But if I could grind on through the æons long enough to witness the release of Duke Nukem Forever, that would be fine.
