No trolling.

Associate professor of Economics at George Mason University gave a preview of his upcoming book in which he says this in regards to cloning:

quote:
I confess that I take anti-cloning arguments personally. Not only do they insult the identical twin sons I already have; they insult a son I hope I live to meet. Yes, I wish to clone myself and raise the baby as my son. Seriously. I want to experience the sublime bond I'm sure we'd share. I'm confident that he'd be delighted, too, because I would love to be raised by me. I'm not pushing others to clone themselves. I'm not asking anyone else to pay for my dream. I just want government to leave me and the cloning business alone. Is that too much to ask?
Should he have the right to clone himself?

from the comments:

quote:
There is an excellent story possibility here. Man who thinks genes matter more than they do raises a clone of himself. Teenage child, disgusted by his own narcissism, murders his narcissistic father/clone to prove to himself that he is not a puppet of fate. The murderer's DNA cannot be distinguished from his victim's and so the killing is ruled a suicide. He is adopted by his twin older brothers/sons.
hahaha

I'd hate to be raised by me.

Sure, why not? His cloned son probably wouldn't even be as similar to him as his twin sons are to each other, and twins are hardly an abomination.

Personally, I think I wouldn't mind being raised by me. But I wouldn't want to raise me.

Did Papa Moose not tell you to stop creating new threads?

Yes, he did. And I think that we should all respect and support Papa Moose's authority by refusing to respond to them.

Did anyone read the OSC short story about the man who kept having himself cloned and then after he got fat he had his mind transferred into the new young clone of himself? (I don't remember the name of the story)

I never understood the anti clone hysteria. They are just Twins. I have a twin brother and although we do have a lot of similarities we are not some silly hive mind duo like they show so often on TV. A cloned child would not be their parent. Then we have the nuts who claim that clones are abominations and would not have souls.... really? Does that mean every pair of twins just share one soul? It ridiculous.
