Actually, you can only tag someone who comes into the thread (at which point they are automatically tagged.

Unless, of course, in your reply, you forget to utter the words "tag, you're it." Then you remain it even if someone does falter in here.

Now, one other rule. If you open this thread, you are in fact tagged (unless the previous poster forgot to say the proper words, of course, and thus they weren't there for you to read). So, you might as well fess up and post your own "tag, you're it" line here because otherwise you are tagged for life and no-one but you will even know it.

Imagine the burden of keeping that secret through the long decades of loneliness.

Nope, better to just utter the prescribed phrase and then wait.

Oh, and it's okay to utter an expletive deleted or something as you get snagged. That's half the fun.

Actually, it might be more like 76% of the fun. I'm not sure.

Just to clarify, Diosmel, having failed to leave a tag waiting for the next sad victim, is still "it" even though I came into this tread to see what was happening. I just happened to luck out. Plus, I know that I can't be tagged back immediately because I uttered the other magic phrase "no give backs".

You can opt to do that or not. Entirely your call.

But if you forget, and then come back to see who you snared, you run the risk of being retagged.

And wouldn't you feel silly then???
