I think the cover and front flap of Empire are not very much like the book. I was wondering what other people thought.

Yeah...they could at least have put mechs or hoverbikes on the cover if they were going to make it look all SFy.

The process that generates cover art and the process that leads to the novel being written often have very little to do with one another, and can get totally out of synch.

Have you ever seen an OSC book where the cover did the story some sort of justice?

I loved the cover of Seventh Son. The cover was the reason I bought it, & it was the first OSC book I read.

The one with a kid holding someting glowing in the palm of his hand? Sure, but did anything like that happen in the book?

Now the cover of Heartfire was probably pretty accurate, but somehow praise for that cover has not been forthcoming.

I liked the cover of ender's shadow, but I can't say that it gave it justice

P.S. the Brazilian cover shown on the Homepage gives Ender's game all the glory it deserves

I liked the cover for Folk of the Fringe. The one with the mormon temple in Salt Lake City underwater. Although technically the water wasn't as high in the story as it was in the picture.

Well, then you wouldn't really be able to tell it was the temple, would you?

Hmmm, thinking about it, I bet that some people could, but it wouldn't be immediately obvious.
