A couple of years ago when I lived in South Africa I introduced two friends of mine to OSC. These two friends now live in the DC area, so when I heard that OSC would be there for his book tour, naturally I let them know. But as fate had it, they never actually made it to the signing. They both had some other commitment and thus, weren't able to go. I even told them about the second signing, but still they couldn't go.
I live in Norway, so there's basically no way that I'll ever get to go to an OSC signing, or get my book signed by the man, but here these two jerks can't even get to the signing when the man is in the same city as them! Needless to say I was disappointed in them, and told them so many many times over the course of the next few weeks.
But now, almost a month after the signing(and three days after my birthday) guess what I find in the mail.
