Has anyone here watched it? I just went thru the new series, and I love it. I keep rewatching different episodes. The great thing about it is that it can be set in any time, in any place.

My favorite episode was "Fathers' Day". I never get teary at scenes in movies (and definitely not TV!), but this one really moved me.

It seems like there is no comparison between this show and any other sci-fi show on television. There is such tremendous depth. In the acting, in the writing, in the plots, even the humor.

Although it has a humanistic slant, it isn't preachy. They show different sides of an argument (like the episode where they discuss the death penalty).

I haven't watched any of the old episodes, and I'm afraid that if I do I'll be dissapointed coming from the new series. That said, there is so much here.

The biggest surprise about this show is Billie Piper. I expected her to suck, or at best, not get in the way. Turns out, she's just as essential to the show as the Christopher Eccleston himself. She is amazing.

The only trouble with this show is that it seems you can't watch it on TV or cable in the US. Unless you have the BBC I guess (I don't have cable).

*cough* bittorrent *cough*.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has watched it, and if they like it.

Another fan of the Docter.
The new series is not bad at all and ive only seen a couple of Episodes, same problem here no
cable.
If you liked it you should definatley check out
the old series, i belive you can get them o DVD.
Doctor is by far better science fiction than Star Trek, even with the low budget special effects looks, the stories and themes are richer.

well, the new series premise would definitely explain why the Doctor would turn evil.

However, he does seem to come to terms with the horrible tragedy that occurred.

OSC Review this series now!!!!

Does the word "please" ring any bells?

It seems you've missed Farscape, Futurama, Firefly, Stargate, Quantum Leap, arguably Lost, early series Sliders or many others that don't come immediately to mind. I may be exaggerating when I say 'many'

I rarely come over here. In fact, I never come over here. But I want to add my voice to the chorus that says this is a good show, among the best of Sci Fi (as listed above).

Taken was quite good, although of course that was a miniseries.
