Bah! I read the article yesterday in the early morning, went to bed, woke up, and now can't seem to recall what web site this was.
Anyway, the bottom line: off the heels of his Lunar Park publicity run, I read that BEE called Card one of his favorite 'story teller' when asked to list some of the writers he enjoyed reading.
I just thought that was cool praise, one author to another.
I bring this up before I cannot see two greater polar opposites between say, Ender's Game and American Psycho. Anyone find it weird?

No, not really. They're both great writers and even though their styles and philosophies are completely different, it does not surprise me that one might recognize the greatness in the other.
Sort of like Orson Scott Card's admiration for Charlie Kaufman.
I'd like to read the article, though, if you can hunt down the link.

I haven't read American Psycho, but I'd probably like it since the author values some of the qualities that I do. BTW, I second the hope for a link.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist fixing OCS and making it OSC in the header, so that it won't always jump out at me as Officers Candidate School ...
I'd love to know where you found that reference, because it's the first hint I've ever had that any of the literary "stars" knows I exist - or is willing to admit it in public. Since I usually take endless amounts of crap from the literary establishment, it would be a welcome relief to know this for sure ...

More importantly, what would OSC's perceptions be if the "Lit establishement" took him seriously? All I know is that at least some of his books are taken seriously by a few; Ender's Game for one.
