When the Ender's Game movie is released, there will most likely be a video game released along side. What type of game do you think would best suit Ender's Game? I think that the battle room and simulator should be incorporated. Maybe a RPG or MMORPG (To fill up the school).

There shouldn't be a video game of Ender's Game... per se.

However. A video game about not the story but the star battle simulator... now THAT would be awesome!

It is described as the most perfect game, after all. Wouldn't it be cool to see for real? I must admit that much of my concept of the "perfect video game" comes from it.

I forgot the precise word for thta simulator. But still. That'd be great for a video game.

Just... for the love of God, no game based o nthe entire book! Maybe the cool games WITHIN Ender's Game, but not the entire story!

I think a solid game could be made with battle room tournaments interspersed between an objective based adventure game based on the psychology game, and transitioning into the Battle Sim once certain goals are achieved in the first two.

Realities of development would likely moot the adventure portion, however.

i dont know if i like the idea of a game.. but if there were a game.. i'd like to see it set up in tiers:

first could be the game room: filled with basic games to help figure out controls and tactics

second could be the battle room: before each army you would have to refer to the game room to learn basic skills and tactics to defeating the army.. ie- "must complete game X - lvls 1-9 - before competing with rat army.

third could be command school which have an identical set up to battle school just advanced games and simulations.

all the while, for a personal storyline, you could play the fantasy game at any given time. this could unlock certain modes so on and so forth. i think that if it were geared toward ender's story that it would fail in a big way.

although, maybe certain parts of the fantasy game could unlock an "ender" mode that follows his story line a bit closer.

i'd imagine that this would be best played as a RPG/RTS.

There shouldn't be just one game. There are so many different games in Ender's Game that trying to do them all at once would be a disaster. No single experience would get the time and devotion it deserved. Instead, there should be:

1. An Unreal-style multiplayer shooter in the Battleroom.

2. A Homeworld-style RTS set on Eros, commanding the fleet.

3. A kids' adventure game set within Battle School.

4. An adventure/exploration game with procedurally-generated content set within the Fantasy Game.

5. A starflight simulator set among the pilots sent to the formic colonies.

6. A Command-and-Conquer-style RTS set within the Shadow series.

Etc, etc ...

Puppy is right, that would be perfect.

But due to what I've seen, if it ever is made it will turn into a corny "Beat Rat Army!" adventure/ run around and fight things game.

Although it isnt bad to keep our hopes up! I live really close to the US microsoft HQ, I know alot of people there, I'll ask someone if the rights to the game have been sold yet.

The Harry Potter Game was essentially the Shrek Game with different graphics plugged into the various... uh... game... things. I'm sure it was something else before it was Shrek, and it seems the Shrek game was more interesting.

I must have missed something... does Microsoft have the rights to the game?

Aside from the flight simulators could lucas arts even pull off a game of such magnitude? Dont get me wrong I enjoyed SW Battle Front as much as the next person but its not the Holy Grail of video games.... Duke Nukem 3D iss [Wink]

LucasArts would be perfect: they have FPS (Battlefront), RPG (Knights of the Old Republic), and other starfighter based games. Only thing missing is RTS.

Dont forget the "Ender's Universe" RPG where you can play as a space-trader or mercenary or IF Fleet captain (Or piggie or bugger) set after the book "Children of the MInd." Heck, maybe even a descolada virus strain.
