I have a tendency to slack off in school and not the grades I should. So this I'm for once like doing well- and I had 3 A's and a Pass for senior project on my progress report (yeah I know- it's pretty juvenile)

So she gave me awesome book for my efforts. I already had one version of this book which I've read 2 or 3 times. Not this nice though- gave me a first printing, first edition autographed hardback copy of The Crystal City in mint condition.

Yay!

My granddaughter thinks that books are for chewing on - a common conception among pre-one-year-olds. I think she would be THRILLED to find a book that tasted like a mint.

What I wish I had is a first printing, first edition autographed hardback copy of the stone tables Moses brought down from the mount. It was an edition of one - talk about limited. Unfortunately, he broke them in his wrath, and now nobody gets anything larger than a pebble. Bummer.

By the way, Shawshank, if you give me contact information for your librarian, I'd like to thank her for giving my books as an incentive and/or prize. DON'T post her info here, though. Go to the Contact page (OSC Help Desk) and tell us that way - it will come to us in a private email.

You're pretty funny when you can't sleep.

I almost choked on my water reading this thread. Way funny.

Couple things - Congrats on the granddaughter, Orson Scott Card. I dig your writing but your personal life is not really something I read up on, so if it's your first - ENJOY! I hear first granddaughters are fun... *pats self on back for being fun* If not, still Enjoy!!

Next - Shawshank, how goes the semester??

Well- school's okay. I have the most amazing schedule ever. I'm a senior at a magnet school and 3 days a week my one class for the day is Spanish I. And I'll graduate with 27 hours of college credit. Not too shabby I think.

Home's been pretty crazy.

To OSC: I sent the e-mail and contact info for my librarian.
