I hear that Orson Scott Card has a novella in the new anthology Wizards: Magical Tales from the Masters of Modern Fantasy. It's called "Stonefather" and according to Gardner Dozois, one of the editors along with Jack Dann, it is over 30,000 words. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was about or anything. It looks like it comes out in May. Looking at the rest of the Table of Contents it looks like it might have some good stories in it.

Another good book I found recently in the bookstore is -
"Maps in a Mirror - The Short Fiction of Orson Scott Card" ($16.95 Retail)
This is a huge book with tiny print containing 43 short stories by OSC published across his long career. It is a VERY interesting read because it is all OSC, so it shows themes and trends in his writing that aren't necessaily noticable when reading his other series. For example, even the lightest story has its elements of darkness. Plus, it is amazing that OSC can come up with story after story, and each one is as amazing, yet totally different, than the one before.
Notable stories I have read so far -
'Unaccompanied Sonata' 'The Changed Man and the King of Words' 'Lost Boys' 'The Bully and the Beast' 'Mortal Gods' 'Saving Grace' 'Eye for Eye'
In any event, thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye out for that book, it does look exceptional.

Maps in a Mirror is great. It's great to see the dynamics of OSC in one collecton. The man can write anything and do it perfectly!

Yeah, Maps in a Mirror has been one of my favorite compilations for the past couple of years now. But this new one looks pretty good, too. Several of those authors are on my favorites list. Just a little over a month to wait!
