In his latest column, OSC said UORE may not be weekly anymore and/or the columns may be shorter. At first I was scared when he started getting at how he was thinking about how he may not be able to continue it and I skipped down and read him write "I've had fun" suggesting he's stopping. [Angst]

Anyways, thanks OSC for all of the columns you have written already, I always enjoy them and you're opinions are always helpful and you're insights are always fascinating. What you wrote about Dune this week was one of the most interesting thoughts/observations I've ever read.

Before joining the forum last year, I had read every single "Reviews" column he wrote, and haven't missed one since. Thanks for the Reviews, Scott...but...I definitely agree with your decision. yay for more OSC books!

I didn't read Dune until after I'd gotten my minor in Arabic, and I have to say the tension over whether Jihad could be averted never really registered for me.

Also, on prescience, I'd say it was necessary for the interstellar flight.

I've loved reading his reviews and I catch them everytime a new one goes up. But I am glad he managed to find a middle ground rather then just canceling the column outright. While he was talking about how much fun it has been to review everything I was thinking, "Ah crap, he's about to anounce that he isn't doing it anymore!"

I'm glad he will still be writing the column. I find his views on current events and every thing in between very intresting. I actually never missed reading one. When he was talking about not doing the column anymore I was some what upset. I'm really glad he is still going to do them. I don't mind waiting a little longer between reviews.

I love his reviews. I've actually started reading his reviews from 2001 and stuff, just to get a fix.

I don't know why. I just always enjoy them.

They will be missed.

I have little sympethy with his needing to write 'new books'. I haven't read all of his old ones yet. When I do, then he can start writing new ones. This whole short review thing is really quite selfish. For shame Mr. Card, for shame. Really. Money? Who needs it. Haven't you ever heard of a starving artist. [No No]

[Cry]

I don't even know you anymore.
