I am thinking about picking these up for my birthday. Do the graphic novels cover the events of the entire novel on which they are based? Or are they firsts in ongoing series?

I never got a response to this question, so I am bumping my own topic.

Have these graphic novels come out yet? Neither Amazon nor Barnes and Noble have any in stock?

I wish I could tell you! I requested that my local comics shop order them for me, and they did, but they didn't call me and somebody else bought them before I had a chance to. ARRGH! I'm trying again. I have hope.

Thanks for the link, kacard. Dabel brothers is selling individual issues of the comic for $3, but I was hoping for the 164-page book advertised on Amazon, which (I assume) is a collection of a series of $3 comics. Kinda of like what they did with OSC' Iron Man where you could get issues 1-6 in hardback format.

Dabel Brothers (at least several of the series) have been bought out by Marvel. They've kept the same writers, and the customers that read them said that they haven't been messed with, content-wise. I hope that being published by Marvel will get them some better artists, though. Haven't been a fan of any of the art in any of the Dabel books, yet.

I just finished the hardback versions of the Red Prophet comic series (issues 1-12). I was very impressed. I hope Marvel decides to adapt the other books in the series, especially Seventh Son which explains many of the concepts only alluded to in Red Prophet.

I read the Wyrms series two months ago. It was ok, but I felt the story suffered because of the decision to compress the action into 6 issues instead of 12. Maybe it was because the novel was full of "ideas" more so than action. I don't know, maybe Marvel felt that doesn't translate as easily into comic form.
