I am in such suspense waiting for this book to release.

Has OSC mentioned a real release date yet?

Is it going to be in 2010?

I haven't seen any updates about it, so because of the lack of information I'm going to guess it won't be out until after 2010. Hopefully it will be out early or mid 2011. I am really looking forward to this book too.

But I don't have any more info than you [Smile]

They always make him write them first, and he hasn't written this one yet. Sorry.

It seems OSC usually has a new release every year in November. (Not sure if this is intentional or just coincidence).

What is on deck to be released this year?

Also, did I read on B&N there is a new comic adaptation coming out in trade paperback(Recruiting Valentine/War of Gifts)?

It's probably a coincidence.

Also as far as graphic novel adaptations go, I don't think that OSC writes those himself, does he?

I really can't wait until Shadows in Flight comes out!

OSC has written some of the comics himself. He wrote 10 issues of Ultimate Iron Man himself. According to Marvel.com, he also wrote (or co-wrote) the comic adaptations of MAZER IN PRISON and WAR OF GIFTS.

The other comic adaptations--Wyrms, Red Prophet, Ender's Game, and Ender's Shadow--were written by other people. (Although I assume OSC probably has some level of editorial control)

I just finished a marathon of reading all of the Shadow books. Wow! I liked them much better this time than the first time I read them, all spaced apart by time. It was like watching a tv series after it is off the air and seeing all of the episodes one after another.

I saw on Amazon today that a hardcover collection of OSC's Dragon Age comics series will be published in Nov. 2010.

Also in Nov. 2010, a YA novel called Pathfinder. Don't know anthing about this book; (could be part of the Stonefather universe?)

It's generally a good idea to be skeptical of the release dates that amazon posts for various books. In my experience they've been wrong at least as often as they've been right.

How good is Shadow of the Giant in comparison to the other Shadow books? Not a big fan of Shadow Puppets.

Not sure about the Dragon Age date -- but the November 2010 date for Pathfinder is correct. (it's really good [Smile] It's not part of the Stonefather Universe. That will be his novel The Lost Gate (which he is finishing up right now).

My least favorite of the Bean books. My eyes glazed over during a lot of it. Preparing for Ender in Exile I went back and got all of the audiobooks from Audible though, and enjoyed the audio version of Giant. Definitely got a lot more out of it.

The audio versions are pretty much spectacular in every way. The only exception is valentine in Ender's game, where the reader sounds like a rookie.

I HIGHLY recommend the audio books! I liked Giant more than Puppets.

I re-read Ender in Exile a couple days ago, and I liked it much more the second time around. When it was released, I really disliked it...my expectations were too different from the end product, I think. (The unanticipated deja vu of Gold Bug and the other three short stories didn't help.)

The story has grown on me since; I enjoyed it. But it whetted my appetite for an unwritten book. [Frown] So sad.

Ahhh, the wait to add to my collection....how it never ends. As impatient as I am...I hope it never does.

Are you kidding? I have to know how it ends! Bean, Ender, Carlotta, and Cincinattus are still floating around in space somewhere - a giant and three midgets just waiting to meet good ol' papa Andrew Wiggin, the Speaker for the Dead! I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!
