Okay, so after I read the whole Ender series (ending with Children of the Mind), I was kind of thinking of the Shadow and Speaker series being tied in in the last book...

I thought that (it might be wrong or impossible... please tell me!) for the Shadows in Flight book, Jane would have discovered Bean and his children and, after the Outside (or was it outspace? You know what I mean) was discovered to be able to create new bodies, she contact Bean (or his children...) and bring them Out and then back in. Very temporary solution, I'm aware, but could that have worked then to lead Bean and his children to help with some of the Speaker plot? (I originally thought that maybe Bean could once again help Peter (2.0) conquer mankind, but then I thought that he'd have no reason to, this time...)

Anyway, would that have been possible, hypothetically? Or is the time line too messed up/ untrue to the story? I kind of wanted to see the giant meet up with some little piggies! Or talk to Ender before he "died"...

OSC is on record as being against the Asimovian tendency to have all of one's universes, TADA!, become the same place. And to have stories all tie up in neat bows.

That said, he's changed enough over the years since he said that that I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. But I weep for the possibility.
