I am reading Visitors, and it has referred to Ram Odin, the one who is old and alive, as not being the one who killed any of the other Odins--that the other one did. There was some suggestion of him having hid from the other Odin until that Odin died a natural death. Yet I recall Odin giving an order in the first book to kill all the Odins and only one surviving. What am I missing?

Thanks.

The explanation was given towards the end of Ruins. Of the nineteen Ram Odins, seventeen said something like "immediately terminate all the other Ram Odins," one said "terminate all the other Ram Odins," (omitting the "immediately"), and one said "disregard orders from the other Ram Odins." The one who omitted "immediately" was led to believe that all the other Ram Odins were killed, and proceeded to found Ramfold, but the one who instructed his expendable to ignore the others' orders was immune and kept himself hidden from the other Ram Odin. It is this Ram Odin who appears as a main character in Visitors.
