I was just searching for some info on an old game I remember playing in my elementary school library on the Apple 2 and I came across this site that has an online Apple 2 Emulator with over 1100 disk images. There are all sorts of old games including Hard Hat Mack, Cannonball Blitz, Karateka, Zork 1-3 and many others. The site is www.virtualapple.com if anyone else wants to check it out.

These look great, but I don't understand how to load it onto my computer. Is that because I'm not on a Mac? I'm using Windows XP. Like, I really want to look at Pitfall II. But the only link that does anything is the bottom line where it says download disk images. None of the red buttons do anything. But then when I try to open it on my computer my computer says it needs to know what file created it. I'm a bit lost.

This is an emulator that uses actual ROMs from 80's era video arcade games like defender, centipede, space invaders and so forth. My favorite was always Crazy Climber.
It's pretty wild, because you actually have to simulate putting in quarters, and sometimes your computer makes a noise like a humming that has nothing to do with the game, but you go: "Hey, the game really did do that!" And you can get into the dip switches to set the game to be played in a tabletop version, so every other player is upside down. The only thing that isn't like the original game is the actual conrols. I need a spinning knob for Tempest.
There is a Mac Version and a PC version. I downloaded all my favorite games several years ago, so I don't have the URL for where I got them anymore.

Theca, it is an ActiveX program and you may have ActiveX disabled. I haven't checked but I think it will only work in Internet Explorer as ActiveX is a Microsoft proprietary program. ActiveX can also be a security risk. I have it disabled in general and set to prompt me if it tries to install anything and I did have to install a control from this page before the programs would work.
Troubs and Boris is this it? It is just called Minotaur.
