I know I'm pretty prude compared to a lot of folks here. But I just had a funny story about my mom and brother watching the Pirates of the Carribean DVD special features. There is a deleted scene called "The French" where Capt. Sparrow expounds on the accomplishments of the French.

Of raisins, he says they are just "humiliated grapes." My mom and brother seemed to think this was a really obscene reference, and likely the reason it was removed from the show. But it turns out that it is a line from "Benny and Joon." It immediately precedes a discussion of how creepy and cannibalistic the California dancin' and singin' raisins are.

I think Depp mentioned in the commentary that he kept waiting for the director to yell cut and the director never did, so he just kept rambling, with different comments each time.

That's pretty funny!

I guess I should explore the special features on the DVD...

Careful, Bob--dig too deep into those DVD special features, and the next thing you know you're waking up in a motel bathtub holding an Elvis pillow.

Hmm. The one thing I kept wondering the whole movie is why the heck they had to wait til the end to hook up...dunno if anyone else wondered that but it irked me.

Which movie do you mean, or are you talking about both?

I have decided to make this my new year's thread. Happy New Year, Hatrack. I love ya'll. I love having a place where I can be myself. I'll work on letting ya'll be yourselves also.

I had an epiphany when I was brushing my teeth before bed at 3 a.m. Life is good. Gosh, I hope this doesn't mean I'll be sticking to that hour a day limit on Hatracking. You know, how that inner critic starts asking "how is this year going to be any different?" Well. I hope it will be less painful. I think that is what a New Year's resolution is about.

Well, it's pretty obvious I need to take the opportunity to nap that has presented it'self <--- ha ha ha holy cow, I've never done that before. I think I'll leave it as a monument to sleep deprivation.
