This is the best picture of me ever, I think. Instead of all the other pictures, the ones that showed how other people saw me, this one shows how I saw myself, and still do. When my father found this picture a month or so ago, he thought I had TAKEN it. "No, Dad, I'm the one in it. I'm five, maybe."

I have Father's Day, grandparents' birthdays, and my dad's retirement coming up, and I would love you to take pictures of the kids.

Ooh . . . pretty . . . I like. If you ever release an album, this picture HAS to be on the cover.

I have a similar one that my dad took of me. It's been on my mind recently, for similar reasons--it feels very ME, even though I was rather young at the time. Eight, maybe. I'll find it and scan it.

The cheek line reminds me of that Alfred Hitchcock logo. It almost seems that the eyelashes are the only truly black part. I'll have to look again.

wow, that is an amazing picture. and yes, you are completely recognizable.
childhood photos like that are so loaded.
i also have a picture from when i was about three or four that is so completely me, inside out. i think i stuck it in an encyclopedia britannica back in virginia and am desperate for someone to find it as it is irreplacable.
i was at the lake in indiana standing on the whitewashed pier disappearing into the brownish water behind me, wearing a purple bathing suit with white hearts on it, white blonde hair blowing in the wind, looking very serious and introspective.

I was browsing through Mad Owl recently and went through your folder of your family photos (your growing up years) and when I saw that one of your parents "1979 Prom" I about croaked! I went to prom in 1979! I'm the same AGE as your parents! I could be your Mom! (in age).
I was a baby model. That's not the best of the pictures, though. I can't find any of the ones where I'm wearing the white dress with the white parasol. I loved those ones.
