Apologies in advance for the relatively self-indulgent thread, but I'd like some constructive criticism from those willing to be honest.
I went to bed 'round midnight but couldn't sleep. This is a fairly common occurence of late but I've been working on it with some advice from a friend of mine who used to post here. Anyway, there I was lying innocently in bed when all of a sudden an awfully disturbing image came into my mind. I don't really want to talk about what it was, but after that I couldn't really sleep. So I did what I normally do under such circumstances: I grabbed my electric guitar (which is conveniently located right beside my bed) and played unplugged for a while. Eventually a melody came out. I liked it, in a sad sort of way, but I found myself wanting to play rhythm and lead at the same time.
I plugged my guitar into my effects processor and my effects processor into my computer, and fired up GarageBand, which I use for recording purposes. After some fiddling I had [URL]more or less what I wanted[/URL].
Now, this is only the beginning of a song. There would have to be more of it. But I'm not sure where to take it, and I'm looking for suggestions. Does anyone have any?

This old machine is beat.
I do know your pain however. Sometimes I wake up with a new tune as well. How about when you've been working on a new song all evening, and thinking about the next section or track keeps you awake itself?
Glad you're obsessed. Someday I'll be able to hear it, and maybe exchange something of my own...
