KEVIN J.ANDERSON's favourite fan mail places him firmly in the earnings
class of, say, Stephen King: `Dear Mr. Anderson, I'm an average
American
and im 15 years old. You have more money then you know wat to do with
so
it wouldnt hurt you to send me $5,000 dollars. Please, Im going to be
16
soon and I need to buy a car. I only get paid minumum wage, and dont
work
enought to make payments. All i want in life right now is a car, but i
CANT afford it. You have so much money, this wont hurt you at all. Just
take 5 min and write me a check please!! I need a car! [] PS. You
probly
wont even read this. Do you really care about me, your fan? Or am I
just
someone who gets u more money? If you send me the check, I will totally
beleieve you are the most caring, genourous, kindest, sweetest person
this planet has ever known. If not...well no offense bur u'll be just
one
of those rich conceited Hollywood people who only think of
themselves....'

You know, that's why we could never get a custom house built back when we wanted to do that. Everyone assumed my dad was like a billionaire, and refused to design him a house worth less than a million dollars.

Psh. Everyone knows that Orson Scott Card is just a millionaire, not a billionaire. I mean, if he's 51 years old, and he makes even $20,000 a year, then that's $1,020,000 right there!

That's too funny. Couldn't he have picked a GOOD author to send it to?

You know, I'd imagine that KJA gets flattered rarely enough that, if this kid had played his cards right, he COULD have weaseled some cash out of him.

Jacare, Tick, I know! That was the first thing that popped into my head too!

Geoff, Really? That's interesting.

I've never met anyone that likes this man, except for OSC, and even there I suspect it has more to do with KJA as a person and not as an author.

How many book series does he have to ruin before people stop paying him to write?

Strider, OSC likes Anderson? Did you hear him say something to that effect, or did he mention it in an article? If it's an article, can you point me to a link? I'd love to read it.

I can't remember where it was, but i know they're friends. I've seen a picture of the two of them together.

Maybe Geoff can help.

I remember another thread was started talking about KJA and I think it was brought up there. This was a long time ago though.

Dear Mr. Card

As a very overly paid game designer I am sure that you are worth millions and millions of dollars. I, on the other hand, am not. Would it be too much to ask, from one loyal gaming fan to someone as powerful and well paid, as yourself, to spare a few hundred thousand dollars so that I could rent a hooker for the month? That's all I want in life, just a little cheap floozy to rent for my very own.

Sincerely,

A loyal fan.

PS. I know better than to ask your father. He's a writer and we all know they don't make any money.

[Laugh] Dan!

Is it my imagination, or has Hatrack gotten much funnier just lately?

So what's the word Geoff? Does OSC like Anderson's writing, or just like him as a person? I'm sure he might be a great guy, but I'm less than fond of his work, myself.

Dan

A hooker for a month is going to cost you more than that. Geeze when was the last time you had a hooker? [Confused]
