It's November 8th, 46 days 'til Christmas. It's cold and it's rainy, I'm a long way away from home and the heating’s broken again.

So I spent today putting up Christmas decorations. Tinsel, holly, stars, angel lights and a fibre optic Christmas tree. My kitchen now glitters and sparkles.

I don't care that it's tacky, I don't care that it's 46 days too early. If the shops can do it, so can I. I feel happy and that's what counts.

Just thought I'd share a little of the holiday spirit.

Exactly. Work is gonna start to suck now, as people (and that's being rather liberal with some people) that haven't been called in for several weeks are going to want to have them classified as an emergency (things like that pesky checkstand that's never been used but just might).

I can remember the (accursed) Vons stores that called on x-mas morning to find out when to expect their coin changers to be replaced [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] (at $200 a pop, it wasn't going to be that day!).

This also means that the pricing group in Pleasanton is going to get priority on everything (like figuring out to how reply to an email). [Wall Bash]

I'm not bitter, tho.

What!!!??? (I'm a humbug on this, too...)

Christmas does not start until December First. Then, and only then, may you play/sing/listen to Christmas Music, decorate the house, talk about snow and sleigh bells and White Christmas and parties and the glorious two weeks of nothingness that surrounds Christmas.

The only allowance is practicing for a Christmas concert, in which rehersals are necessary.

Bah humbug. I'm so excited for Christmas, I can hardly wait. (It's the most wonderful time of the year [Smile] )

EDIT: No, Christmas isn't the only holiday, but for me, it's two weeks without homework and school, and that is wonderful.

Christmas is therapy. I'm also in choir so I go around humming 'let it snow' after rehearsals.

Okay, so Christmas isn't the only holiday, but we've just had Halloween and I'm not Jewish or Muslim, so what else is there for me?

They're already saturating television with Christmas ads. I know stores that have had the Christmas stuff out since the middle of July.

I am so homesick for the days when no one even mentioned Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. They way they do it now, I'm overdosed on Christmas by the time Thanksgiving gets here. And that sucks seriously.
