Insomnia hit me hard tonight...If someone would be nice and drop by to chat at parachat, It would help me to spend some time and, of course, know my fellow jatraqueros better.

It's useful -- there are a whole lot of Jatraqueros who have AIM. And if you have AIM, you can go to the Hatrack Chat chatroom, where those 'rackers who feel like chatting can be found. [Big Grin]

Why do you use AIM instead of Parachat?

And could you tell me how to get to the chatroom on AIM? I'm downloading AIM again...I uninstalled it because people kept using advertisements (especially for porn sites) a couple years ago...But I want to try it again.

To get to the chatroom on AIM, you invite yourself into the chatroom "hatrack chat". The easiest way to do this is to put your own self on your buddy list, then right mouse click on your name in your list and choose "send chat invitation" off the menu that pops up. Then when the chat invitation pops up, change the random assigned chatroom name to "hatrack chat".

Okay, the other way you can get into hatrack chat on AIM is to right click on anyone's name on your list and pick "send chat invitation". When the box comes up, change the name to your own name, and the chatroom name to "hatrack chat".

Parachat has a more comfy confused couch, and better decor, and lets you play the identity game, and has newbie fishing. Parachat is way cooler. [Smile]

I miss the days when it was not so uncommon to get a dozen people or so in Parachat. Parachat had a certain clunky charm.

I think Ralphie is to blame for the mass exodus to AIM.

I've never had a pop-up issue with AIM. What are you doing differently?? Are you sure you're not thinking of icq? I used to always get "come watch my web-cam" messages on icq . . .

It wasn't a pop-up. It was a user that would mass-message people (I assume he/she was using a bot) with links to webcams and generic viagra clones.
