my friend dustin bought me two betta fish for christmas [Smile] it was such a wonderful and surprising gift, i was thrilled!
we are trying to come up with good names for them.
one is pinkish white, and we have arbitrarily decided it is a girl; the other is blue and red -- the boy. the blue one is perpetually pissed. the pinkish one is much more chill.

i've got a list of names i am considering, but i'd like some input from hatrack.
merry christmas, happy holidays, terrific thursday, y'all.

some possibilities:
cleo and tony
ceasar and brutus
gracie and george (after allen and burns)
ike and tina (a personal favorite)
fric and frac
bonnie and clyde
fred and ginger
clark and lois
hector and achilles
gregor and samsa

i am partial to the arch rival/jilted lover name combinations.

[ROFL]

Sara, are they both in the same container? If they are and they're both males, they'll fight till one dies. [Frown]

I hope that chill one is a chick fish. [Big Grin]

I'm going with Pat's vote!

If you want jilted couples, then instead of Clark and Lois, try Lex and Lois. [Wink]

Or Clark and Mayson . . .

they are in a container with a clear divider down the middle. and they have two separate little hotels for when i clean their home [Smile]

trust me, after watching them this afternoon i know at least one would surely be dead by now if it were otherwise.

My roommate and I each bought a fish once and they lived in a blender (with the cord disconnected, of course). I named my fish Bono, and my roommate thought another celebrity with a single name would be appropriate - so she named hers Madonna.

It was really funny when we got into a car with a couple friends after I had been away at school and my roommate informed me that Madonna had died. We allowed at least 5 minutes of frantic incredulous conversation fronm everyone else before we clarified that Madonna the fish was dead. That's always fun.

I have partial ownership of a fishie.

We call him Trogdor.

If there was ever a name for a creature that lives in an aquatic environment, Trogdor the Burninator is it.

Actually, since we're looking for a pair of names, it's even binomial nomenclature. [Big Grin]

I think she might be looking for names that aren't longer than the actual fish . . .

Fish I and Fish II.

Or, if you want to be original, Fish III and Fish IV.

Ok, either this was just too corny, or not apparent enough, but how about:

Alpha and Beta?

or

Al and Betty (if you don't want to sound too dorky?)

How about Pinky and The Brain?

For laughs you could make the blue one be Pinky.
