Anyone watching? I'm in the middle of the 4th episode and I think it's one of the better things I've seen in awhile.
I love the feel of the 80s movie/TV show. Haven't seen a movie that felt like this since Super 8 (Which was a bit more of a heavy handed homage to 80s Spielberg).
But this feels at once fresher and also an even more complete throwback. I'm really excited to see where it goes.

My wife and I watched it a few weeks ago and really loved it.
I think this is a common reaction, but I actually wasn't planning on seeing it (I hate horror moviess in general) until she watched the first episode and pretty much forced me to watch it again with her. After that I was hooked.
There are a lot of dark and scary things in the show, but it's also exciting and beautiful and almost joyous (probably the wrong word, but it feels right) in a way, watching the kids interact with each other and solve the mystery. I found it gripping and enchanting in a way that I rarely feel any more, and in that sense it's sort of nostalgic, a reminder of being 12 years old and so enthralled with some silly book or another you stay up all night reading it.

Just finished the last episode of the first season.
By far one of the best shows I've watched in years. I can't sing its praises enough.
It's not so much that the show is original (though I think they come up with a novel re-telling of a lot of different ideas), it's that it's one of the better acted, better cast, better scripted and most of all, well-paced shows in a long time. For a show that bases itself in large part around the mystery of its underlying mythos, and the watching experience on how that mystery is revealed to the viewer, it pulls that off incredibly well where I've seen a ton of other shows fail by either revealing too much too fast or not enough too slowly.
Really just a great show and I look forward to the next season.
