I'm sure you all already know that I've returned from Mosul, Iraq and that I'm on leave now. To say the least I'm happy to be back, but I still have a little empty part in me. Odd to talk about to be honest, but one of many things.
Being there for a year just.. well to say the least it opened my eyes to more than a few things. Its amazing how much stock we put in government how we put it on such a high pedestal. I've seen what the lack of one does, what a lack of security, police, fire departments, etc. does to a big city. What happens when no one picks up the trash for months at a time. Most of all it made me see what a few miscontents can do when they put their minds to it and you play fair.
Well I honestly have far too much to babble on about and bring up. For now though I'm just going to chill for a little more. Though I did spend a week with wonderful Morgan ( pixie) I had a wonderful time to say the least. I hope you are all doing at least all right in the least.

Glad you are back.
Sounds like an unusual (and important) perspective. Tell us more when you can!

Yay! Hey, Paul! You're back, but where's back? If it's St. Paul, I'm at Hamline campus, and I'd love to get together with you for lunch or something sometime!

Jenny, I'd throw the petals at Fox too, but I think the only fragrant soft thing he wants pelted at him is Pixie.

I hope you'll be able to share your insights with us sometime soon. I was never in the military (no draft at the time, and I sure as heck wasn't going to volunteer for 'Nam).
But having worked on several military contracts over the past few years, I have developed a real admiration for certain aspects of the "service" and sometimes wish I'd gone that route.
And sometimes not.
Your observations about it all would be very interesting.
But in the meantime, I'm very glad you are back and came home safe & sound.
