It's getting warm now, and I want to change my hair in preparation for summer [Smile] Hoping to enlist some "hatrack hair mavens" or hatrack hair masters and their wonderful advice...

The best shot I have of my face right now, and unfortunately also the best of my hair (I'm in the middle) You can see that it's wavy, and it's a little longer -- stops a little above my bust.

I had it shorter for a little bit, but don't have any pictures from that time period -- I'm thinking maybe something a little bit like Julia Robert's hair from "The Mexican" but I'm worried that it won't shape my face right, since I definitely have a round, cherubic-type face and not the all-teeth, all jaw-bone chiseled movie star features [Smile]

That's the best example I could find of what I'm going for. Any suggestions?

PS. also, a caveat, I am painfully low maintenance, and any sort of style that would involve straightening of the hair -- well -- I won't have the patience for it [Smile]

How about Meg Ryan's cut in City of Angels Megs curly do
I like the Julia Roberts one too! I usually go a little shorter at the beginning of the summer knowing that it will grow and by the end of the summer be the perfect length. My hair grows fast though.

I love Meg Ryan's hair in that, but you don't think it'll be too short? I was scared when I went shoulder length last summer...

I LOVE the Meg Ryan cut.

As far as the too short bit, it always grows out!?

Do you have a good stylist that you could show the picture to and get a RL perspective on that particular cut? It looks like it would be fairly low maintenance.

I will take a printout of both the Meg Ryan AND Julia Roberts shots, and see which one the stylist thinks would work better [Smile]

My hair grows fast, too, so i'm not *too* worried.

With a rounder face, I wouldn't go too-too short. I'm babyfaced, and I don't like to have my hair any shorter than my chin. If you have a good stylist, he/she can probably help a LOT in your decision. I pretty much just told my new stylist that I wanted it shorter than my shoulders, longer than my chin, and to look good when I rolled out of bed. I think the Julia Roberts hair could work for you.

I just got my hair cut and colored. I went to a nicer salon for the first time and it was well worth the extra money. She was great about helping me find hairstyles that would look good on me. Even if you just go to something nice once in a great while it can give you ideas for when you go back for your regular sytlist.

I like the Julia Roberts one. Post a photo of the results of whatever you end up choosing, I'm sure it will look great!

I like the Julia Roberts one as well. The Meg Ryan one is cute, but it seems like you would need to have a lot of really good hair days ( I always plan for the worst)

Why can't round faces have short hair? I always thought it was the opposite: I have very defined features and an oval face and when my hair was short, I felt that it wasn't feminine enough (and to my 15-year old horror, someone told me I looked like a guy).

The link doesn't work for me, either. I'm guessing it's something like this?

Kristen - That happened to me a lot after I cut my own hair in the mirror very short in fifth or sixth grade. I even got 'corrected' going into the women's room a couple times. Probably didn't help that I was a tomboy.

Leonide - Wish I could help, but I'm probably the last person you'd want hair advice from (see above). [Smile]

that's like the same shot, only they're in different poses, and it's from a different angle and in color.

Or i guess i mean it must have been from the same photo session [Smile]
