I re-installed windows XP this weekend, but that might just be a red herring.

Anyway, there are a few files on my secondary drive that I just cannot access. They show up in explorer, and look OK, but I cannot read, copy, delete, or change their preferences. I did a scan, and there are about 10 files on the computer that are like this.

I tried checking for errors under disk properties/tools, but that didn't do anything.

Is my hard drive going bad? What can I do?

What are the files? What happens when you try to access them? Is your drive NTFS of FAT32? What user are you logged in as?

Five of the files are mp3 files, 1 is a file in the recycle bin, and the rest are cyginw config files like .gnupg.

The drive is NTFS.

There is only one user account set up on the computer, and that's who I am logged in as.
