I'm not trying to start a competition, but if someone else can top this I'll humble myself and be grateful that it's not worse:
Ugh, I feel completely spent. Within an hour of going to be my almost 3 year old son started throwing up. He followed that up with more throwing up and dry heaving.
All total I was up with him 7 times and my 4 yr old twice because he was awoken by his brother and couldn't get back to sleep himself. Oh yeah and I changed 2 sets of sheets and washed both of them.
Now I'm at work and I feel completely grossed out and exhausted.
Gross out warning... . . . . . . . . I may never eat hot dogs, carrots or milk again.

I'm going to suggest that possibly your son did... having had a similar night recently, augmented by leg cramps brough on by being dehydrated by throwing up so much...
but I didn't have to work the next day...

When Mooselet got sick a couple months ago, his last meal had also been hot dogs. Odd. He has eaten plenty of them since, though, and had no problems. Coincidence only, right? Right???
As far as topping that, I think the Mooselet Saga has been fairly severe, and specifically the most recent graphic explanation (the aforementioned stomach flu) may have won out over yours just slightly. However, when it comes to "whose child has it roughest," or even "which parents have it roughest," I don't believe we're even in the running.

Not having any kids, I haven't yet had to deal with the fun of a vomiting child all night, but I do know the fun of being a 16 year old and throwing up every half hour (like clockwork) for about 12 hours (even after taking that "stop vomiting" medication 3 times). For those that want to stay up on current events, I just got to hear #8 over the phone while talking to my wife. Luckily it all went in a little bucket so cleanup wasn't a problem.

Well, I can sympathize with the at work and tired, although I most likely can't top you. I have myself to blame, or maybe my child depending on how you look at things. I was up every half hour from 1:30 to 3:30 before I finally decided that I just was going to go into the livingroom and read. I read for an hour and finally managed to convince myself I was sleepy again and crawled into bed when my stomach started growling. I got back up and got a drink and a snack and then settled back into bed to finally get an hour or so of rest. I don't think the baby was doing anything unusual, so I guess it was just hormonal. Here's hoping this isn't a common occurrence.
Hope you can get some rest tonight and that your son feels better!

I had a phone interview yesterday with a company in the Madison area. If it works out, I may be moving to Dodgeville in the next few months...

Ack, yes, I know those kinds of nights. Recently my daughter got me up about 3 times in one night because she was having nightmares. The first time she woke me up, she was crawling into bed with us. I carried her back to her bed, because we are not starting that habit. That's when the fun began. You just can't reason with a 3-year-old at 2 am. You have to rely on the fact that eventually sleep will overtake her. Benadryl helps as well, in extreme cases. Posts: 5957 | Registered: Oct 2001

For those that are interested in the continuing story:
I got 10 hours of sleep last night so I'm feeling much better.
Apparently this is some sort of 24 hour virus. My son is fine and being sick is a distant memory for him. However, my wife now has it. I love her with all my heart, but she's a bigger baby than the kids when she gets to feeling like this, so I've been playing the obedient husband this evening. I went to the store to get her some Sierra Mist. I tucked her in bed. I got the kids to bed all by myself. (Usually this is a joint project) I even finished the final paint touch ups in our bedroom.
Hopefully she'll be feeling better and me and our 4 yr old don't get it tomorrow, since my parents are coming in for easter.
