Ok the first one only has 300,000, closer to a million, but this one is just sad, it only had 3,000 people. Strike anyone else as funny?

Not any funnier than the factually bankrupt basis of the entire movement.

Too true, but none the less, they can;t even get a third of a million people to a million mom thing, its just kindof a bad sign.

Because some of us respect people's right to march for something they believe in.

Forgive me if I have no respect for people who base public policy off what they saw in Rambo.

Among other things, the Republicans are trying to push through legal sales of assault weapons, repeal of the Brady bill (ie return to immediate possession of weapons upon purchase, no background checking, etc), relegalization of bodyarmor-piercing "copkiller" bullets.

Maybe their son or daughter was killed in a gun-related crime and they really, really don't believe assault weapons should be on the street.

*thoroughly, thoroughly irritated by this thread*

Assault rifles are regulated under the 1934 NFA as amended by the GCA 68 and FOPA 86. The bill that will sunset this year is the one that bans pistol grips because they "facilitate firing from the hip." (Try it sometime.)

Why? It's perfectly reasonable to want background checks and making body armour piercing bullets is reasonable too.

You'd purchase an assault rifle?

If we continue to hunt deer with sissy regular rifles and shotguns, they're going to evolve very thick skin and possibly take over the world.

ATLANTA - A military rocket launcher was found Tuesday near a rail-transit station, but the FBI said it looks to be a less-powerful model commonly used to train soldiers and would be unable to bring down an aircraft or destroy a train.

The M136 AT4 launcher is used by the Army to destroy light tanks. It will be examined further to be sure it is only a training model, said FBI spokesman Steve Lazarus.

"If it is indeed a training device, it's something you can buy at any gun store," he said.
