For my first post of this year I decided to forgo the tradition of starting off with a bad pun. Instead I'm going to write about a topic that I'm sure is on everyone's mind this time of year - football! Specifically Hugh Franklin Culverhouse.
Hugh Culverhouse is best known as a football administrator and team owner. What you may not know is that he started out in agriculture. He made his fortune by selling ears of corn for a dollar apiece. Thus, it was only fitting that, when he founded the football franchise in Tampa Bay in 1974, he called them the Buccaneers.

Well, your forbearance in forgoing that tradition is certainly *ahem* admirable . . .

Your name and the bad pun thing compel me to ask: Are dobies named after you? If so, why aren't they called Dobbies?

The original Dobie was more legend than flesh and blood Hatracker. He stopped posting here on April 3, 2002. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are still little understood.
Of course, I might not be the best person to ask, since I officially registered here 3 months and 22 days later (you can look it up). I of course took my name from Harry Potter (Rowling of course mispelled my name in the books).

This reminds of why, when one is telling stories in Spoonerisms, one should not select Pirates of the Caribbean. There's problems once you get to any of the parts with fighting buccaneers.

(Which is also what Evander Holyfield said after that Mike Tyson fight.)
