I'm in my league's Superbowl this weekend and I'm having some diffulty deciding which WR's to activate in my lineup.

Here are my choices - Hines Ward, Jimmy Smith, Joe Horn, Jerry Porter.

Ward is probable this weekend...Smith and Porter are coming off hot weekends and facing poor pass defenses (Houston and Kansas City), Horn will almost always get one touchdown.

Any thoughts? I've been leaning towards Porter and Smith...but Ward and Horn have been my starters most of the season.

Thanks!
Matt

Porter's been hot of late, and they are playing KC. He's a definite. Horn is the safe choice, as he has actually been consistent this year.

I have a similar situation with Isaac Bruce and Eric Moulds. I'm strong at the other two WR spots (Javon Walker and Jerry Porter) but unsure of that one. Moulds has one more touchdown and two less fumbles, but Lee Evans has been the man lately in Buffalo. On the other hand, anytime the QB throwing to you is Chris Chandler or Jamie Martin, you have problems.

edit: I take solace from the fact the only guy ahead of me in the standings had TO with no suitable replacement. [Wink]

Traveller, you've got to look at the match-ups.

Porter is playing against the poor Chiefs defense. That's a good mark since he and Collins have really been in sync for the last couple of weeks. Also, remember that the Chiefs churn out the points, so the Raiders will give up on the running game early and pass for quick points.

Porter is a definite.

Joe Horn, on the other hand, is going to be a wash. The Falcons will be using Aaron Brooks as a practice session for Donovan McNabb and will be bringing every blitz and defensive stunt they can to disrupt the passing game.

Horn is a loss.

Hines and Jimmy are a toss up, though. But I would go with Jimmy Smith. Here's why: Roethlisberger has been great but he's still a rookie passer. Ward does his best work when Plaxico Burress is racing down the opposite sideline and you can bet that the Ravens (who won't want to give up their shot at a play-off spot) will have either Ed Reed or maybe even Deion on Hines. The Texans are fighting for respect, but the Jags, just like the Ravens are gunning for the Wild Card spot. Leftwich will air it out and often. If Leftwich is hurt (and he looks like he took a beating versus Green Bay), David Gerrard sure makes things interesting.

Me, I'd take Porter as a sure thing and the slight gamble of Jimmy Smith. Ward would be third choice and give Horn the hook.

Kyle, ditch Isaac Bruce.

The Rams have had it, Martz has lost it, and even if Bulger makes it back into the line-up, the Eagles' cornerbacks will have a field day.

And if Chandler is QB again... trade for the Eagles as your defensive unit. I loved when the Panthers got him for six interceptions two weeks ago...

That was my gut feeling, too. It was pointed out in a column I read that crystal chandelier had attempted 62 passes - 9 of which were intercepted.

I actually have the Buffalo D in that league, which is serving me well.
