This explains why I heard them talking about CF on NPR today. I heard that Carlson is talking with MSNBC about a show there, and that CNN's new cheif of... something... (I forget his name, he's only been around for one month) told him and Begala were much, much better at arguing than actual debate, and that they wanted a show with less partisan-talking-point-exchange and more discussion. Not sure if one is the result of the other, though.

It's about time. I fail to see how anyone can benefit from a bunch of folks all talking at the same time, degenerating by the end of the show to all of them shouting at each other at the same time.
But, I guess it was a microcosm of the US these days. Hardly anyone talks to anyone who disagrees with them, they just shout past each other.
Well, not so much here at the 'Rack (although it sometimes happens here, too), but in real life I just know too many people who will only communicate with other people whom they know ahead of time they agree with. Anyone else gets ignored or shouted down. Which is really very boring, IMO.

You know cross fire and larry king live are always two shows I pass immediately if at all possible. The only time that I'd ever voluntarily watch them is when it is the only thing on while stuck at an airport.

What, are you on crack? He went on to say, "So, the news is fixed?" He also said that Carlson Tucker is getting a prime time show on MSNBC and the other three from Cross Fire are staying at CNN, so it's like musical chairs, except that when the music stops, they all have chairs, and look at each other and say "what's next?" Or something like that.

Note that Tucker also has his own show on PBS.

I'm glad they cut that show, it was useless.
Carville always lost his arguments because he couldn't think up snappy replies fast enough and he got angry too much.
Novack is an idiot, and I'm willing to call him a traitor too, since he released the name of a CIA operative undercover and refused to give his source.
Paul Begala is cool, and smart, and I liked listening to him talk about things, but too often he attacked the right just for the sake of attacking the right.
And Tucker. Ah, what can I say about Tucker. Tucker is the rightest guy I've ever seen, though not quite a male Anne Coulter (I think Anne Coulter is more of a male Anne Coulter than Tucker is). To be fair, he actually DOES have nice things to say about the left, and doesn't hate them because they are liberal, but rather because he actually believes so strongly in his own convictions. For that, I think he's a good guy, but he's still bogged down in right wing thinking, and in deep deep denial about his own party.
Go Jon Stewart. Jon's obviously a liberal, but he never ever misses a chance to rip ANY politician a new one when they screw up, which is how ALL news shows should be, and were in their glory days.

When does that happen on FOX News? Emotions seem to run pretty high fairly often, but I do feel like I'm watching debate as opposed to a shouting match, even Hannity and Combes is pretty civil.

During the presidential race (when I stopped watching the daily show), his rips seemed to fall along the lines of:
Look at Kerry! He's a boring, awkward white guy! What a doofus! Ha!
Look at Bush! He's a traitor, a liar, and wants to murder all homosexuals! Ha!
Well to be fair, he IS a liar, and does want to deny rights to Homosexuals. And he never to my knowledge called Bush a traitor, he just repeatidly called him an idiot, and when you look at the evidence he continually used, I think it's far to use that too. And he ripped on Kerry often enough for doing and saying stupid things too.

Well, there was that time he said Donald Rumsfeld was doing "a terriffic job." If he wasn't lying I'd have to question his sanity
He and his administration, however, are very careful to maintain plausible deniability in any case where they could wind up being accused of lying -- the assertion that Iraq posed an imminent and serious threat to American security, for instance.

Alright Maui Babe. I apologize for appearing as a stereotypical liberal wildly pointing at Bush and calling him a big fat liar.
But the man isn't entirely forthcoming, and he DID lie about the timber company in the debate with Kerry where he kept making the "want some wood" jokes, he DOES own stock in a timber company that allowed him by federal law to be counted as a small business owner.
No he's never been caught red handed in an outright lie, but a lot of his biggest promises have been laced with at least moral dishonesty. I guess the fact is that he's always wrong, so when he promises something will happen, and then doesn't, it makes it look like he lied about it. Quite frankly I'd rather him be a liar than a blithering idiot who is always wrong.
