Thought I would just post this up as I am officially at my new duty station in Germany. I'm stationed in Hohenfels which is in Bayern ( Bavaria) and about.. I'd say 25 minutes from Regensburg by train. Plus its pretty close to Prague and well lots of other cool stuff. I won't be getting deployed any time soon, one tour of duty and now I'm shamming, as its an opfor ( opposing force) unit. All I get to do is train national guard, reserve, and active component army units to go on K4( kosovo) , Afghanistan, and Iraq rotations.

As of right now I'm using publicly available computers/internet access so I'll be sparodically on until I get my computer and internet connection setup over here. That and they don't sell unlimited internet access over here. You have to buy a set number of hours and get charged for every minute you go over ( 2 cents per minute over). Great stuff huh lol. I hope you are all doing well and I will try to get in touch with you all soon.

So happy to hear you made it out of Iraq safely. And the OpFor work you're doing will probably save a lot of lives.

Black Fox, thanks, once again, for serving. We're all honored to have you as an American abroad, doing what you can for a better tomorrow.

When you're visiting Prague, let me know.

Or, say, some place in Poland. Yeah.

Foxy, glad to hear you're safe and enjoying yourself. The work you are doing now is useful, and I know you are also getting to study and develop your own skills at the same time. Enjoy it and come to England soon!

It's so great to hear from you, Fox! I'm glad you're in a safe place.

A friend of mine was stationed in Germany shortly before Desert Storm. He had to do night maneuvers in a boar preserve - which was all the more difficult b/c they couldn't harm the boars in any way and the boars treed them every single night.

I've already heard wonderful stories about the boars, and many others. I just came back from my official field trip to Regensburg and I enjoyed it very much. The cathedral there isn't the most beautiful one I've been to, but still very nice. I loved the restaraunt we went to as well.

I can't understand the bavarian accent as well as up north, say Hamburg, etc, but I catch most of the words when they talk a little bit slower and less.. slurred ::laughs:: I am looking forward to going to Poland at somepoint and time, I have to get in contact with a friend of mine, Aleck Babel, who is Polish and hopefully he will visit there sometime that I can see him as well. Anyhow I'm doing pretty well and the new fireteam, and soon I'm going to be the squad leader, I have seems full of excellent soldiers. Even if they are a bit discontent ( They all want to go down range, as in go to Iraq etc.) Its motivating to know there are so many good soldiers out there who are not afraid of fighting. Anyhow I have to semi-run now. Hope you all are doing well.
