I really wanted to be there.

A year ago, it was my top priority.

However, since then I have a new son, I've been unemployed until last week, my father should be getting out of the hospital/rehab unless complications set in, and we got a new dog.

But I just don't think those piddly excuses are good enough for missing the Hatrack Event of the Century--even if it has been a small century so far.

Here are my other excuses, so please add any that you can think of...

10) I just got the extended eddition of RotK. My time is booked up for a marathon viewing.

9) I want to see our host, and he's already sent his regrets that he can't be at the wedding. So I figure if I know he won't be there, I have a better chance of seeing him if I'm anywhere else. So I'll be anywhere else.

8) The whole "Gay Marriage" thing has so many people up in arms, I don't want to get in the middle of it, and I know this marriage will be filled with joy and happiness--the definition of Gay.

7) I believe Saddaam hid his WMD in Iowa. Like, who would notice.

6) Al Queda has mentioned thier desire to strike at the heart of America, and this wedding is as close to an American Heart as is available.

5) The Puns!!!!

4) diabetes runs in the family. DKW and Bob have been so sugarly sweet at a virtual distance, I'm afraid in person they may send me into a coma.

3) Jealousy. I'm not sure of whom, but hey, it sounds cool.

2) Such a Jatraquero gathering is dangerous to the balance of the universe. That much coolness in one area may send the world into a chaotic spin.

1) If I go I will never want to come back.

[Frown] I'm sorry you're not coming, Dan_Raven. It would be lovely to see you, and I was thrilled at the possibility of meeting Sasha.

[ROFL] that was great, Dan!

But I am really really [Frown] that you're not coming. There are so many other Hatrackers that I would like to meet (all the ones who weren't at KamaCon), and many of them are not coming either....

" I want to see our host, and he's already sent his regrets that he can't be at the wedding. "

That's what you think.

This obliquely hinting at information people will be interested in is a family trait, isn't it? [Smile]

11) I don't want to be there when DKW and Bob turn to the audience and yell..."SUCKERS!!! Did you believe we'd actually go through with it?"

You mean when we confess that this whole thing has been a year-long April fool's joke. *nods* I can understand that.

Will you have all the gifts on a table in the entry, so people can claim them on the way out, or will you be returning them by mail?

Speaking of presents, you know that real great one you will get that doesn't have the card on it....that's from us Ravens.

No, honest. It is.
