For the first time in about a year and a half, I am able to touch the roof of my mouth with my tongue. No more disgusting noises at the dinner table and mispronunciations of gs and ngs.
While my braces are still very present, the palate expander is out. Hooray!

The gap was big enough before I got any orthodontic work. There are braces stretching across them now. I'm just happy that I ate a banana a minute ago, and I didn't have to swallow any of it twice or hock it into the sink.

Maybe I'm the only one...but I thought it felt really good when you had the palate expander tightened. It was like it was itching an itch that I didn't know I had.
But congrats on getting it off.
