I've got quite a few houseplants, and I've thought about getting grow lights for some of them. I've noticed, though, that the plant in my bathroom is thriving. I've got a florescent light in there, and if I leave that light for a day's time, the plant has oriented its leaves visibly toward it. Do grow lights provide anything to plants that florescent lights don't?

Yes, but it depends on the plant whether they really need it or not.
