So the new Against Me! album has been released, and i must say it has taken some getting used to. After listening all the way through it a dozen or so times, i can finally appreciate it fully. The band has always been known for rolling anthems, fist in air, their crowds screaming along to every word. On this new record however, they seem to be wanting more. They are tired of catch phrases and the same old thing every night. They hired post punk veteran J. Robbins to produce this record and the results are quite impressive. With a much richer and fuller sound, the music requires more out of the listener. A band who developed their fanbase with a specific brand of acoustic and sparingly electric driven, beer soaked, anarchy songs, is taking a risk in changing up now. But i must say i'm impressed. While i cannot scream along to every song with a giddy smile on my face (as has been the case with previous efforts) because this album has a much more somber feel to it, i do enjoy this record every bit as i did their previous ones.

Go out and buy Searching For a Former Clarity by AGAINST ME! You won't be disappointed.
