After watching "HitchHiker's Guide" someone mentioned to me that Douglas Adams wrote a script or two for a children's animated series back in the 80s.

I remember watching that series! But I can't remember the name!

It had a chubby, elderly guy who rode a pogo stick everywhere and was on a quest to heal a rainbow. Or something. There was a fat badger in overalls, a floating camel, a witch...all sorts of odd things.

I do remember that the Adams-written episode was about aliens stealing blocks water from Earth.

Can anyone jog my memory further?

Possibly this?

"In 1979 Douglas Adams and John Lloyd together wrote the script for two half hour episodes of Doctor Snuggles, one of them called "The remarkable fidgety river".

Never heard of it myself, but this is from the article Wikipedia had on Adams.

Yup! That's it.

I remember watching this, then "The Great Space Coaster" back to back.

Another odd show.
