She is a singer who has also done a reality TV show, and is apparently now branching out into acting. I can't vouch for how good a singer she is since I don't generally listen to the latest music out there.

She's perhaps best known for being the sister of Ashlee Simpson (Cecelia, Simon's former girlfriend, on Seventh Heaven).

Ashlee Simpson, the no talent sister of the semi-talented Jessica Simpson. Ashlee was caught lip-synching on SNL. Of course, her stupid fans 'forgave' her, even though she never once sang a song w/o electronic help. Music is dead.

For some reason I'm remembering that Jessica Simpson was the blonde chicky who didn't make the new Mousketeers Club, losing that honor to Britney Spears and Christina Aguilara.
IMO, she's made considerable hay out of her dumb blonde act. I don't think for a minute she really is that dumb. Britney, OTOH....
