Yup! Chris and I just met her this weekend. Even had dinner with her.
Actually she came up to PA to see the work John VanPelt has done on my ceiling in preparation for painting the mural. Unfortunately for her it was more of a busman's holiday since we put her to work fetching tools and spackle.
For the record, though, she's really cool and very smart and we hope to see more of her up this way!

Is Chris on Hatrack? Not to question your pronouncement, I just would want to know if Chris were on Hatrack.

Chris isn't on Hatrack, yet, but John VanPelt was also here this weekend and he has previously been pronounced real. So Sharpie is certified even if we discount Chris's certification since he's not registered at Hatrack.
(But Chris is "real", too, as can be attested to by TomD, Christy, and a few others.)
I really do need to get Chris on Hatrack. He was already a big online geek before we met, so he has his habits and haunts and I have mine and we haven't really integrated the two that much.

Chris is real, but he's not a real Hatracker, and thus can't pass realness on to others. By the same token, neither can Bill (Celia's sweetie). But JVP can.
On the plus side, if Chris ever becomes a Hatracker, he will be "real" from that moment on. Same thing happened to Allegra.

For instance, when I finally let Ketchup Prince Consort register, he was instantly real, having met 4 Hatrackers.

These guidelines mean I became real as soon as I registered for hatrack. This is a bit disturbing, as I'd been going through most of my life at least half-imaginary. Hmm.
I just want to say "Hi" to all u hatrackers and to say that I am as real as I get. I am looking forward to chatting with all of u very soon and hope we can get to know each other better. And now that I am "real" I can vouch for Sharpie that she too is "real".

Oh, there will be photos galore, between what I take and what John takes. He's documenting the whole project on his website. This link is to a sketch that is veryclose to the finalized version of the leading for the "skylight" section of the mural.
The most interesting thing on that site right now is the record of how the design of the mural has evolved from my first letter of inquiry and basic concept which I sent to John. Since then he has suggested many ideas that have molded the original concept into something I expect to be quite spectacular.
This exchange has also helped me refine my communications skills since many of his changes reflect what I said by way of critique rather than what I meant (of course), which has lead to the various drafts. All in all, though, it's pretty amazing how we're on the same page with this project. Our ideas have been very compatible. John is wonderful to work with.

The "skylight" is part of the mural. It will be painted in trompe l'oeil style ("fool the eye" or as a perspective illusion). That is, there will not actually be a physical skylight. The ceiling will be painted to look like it is vaulted with a skylight at the top. This will all be in the dining room. The phoenix is going to be painted to that it will be right-side up as you enter the dining room from the kitchen.
And to tell you the truth, the the phoenix in the skylight comes from Chris's handle rather than vice versa. The phoenix is sort of a totem animal for him.

It will still look amazing (though I am a sucker for real skylights ).
Edit: Just ignore my reading of the position of the design. I always knew spatial concepts were not my friend.
