I can only imagine a conversation years ago that went:

Nasa Guy 1: Michael, come here!
Michael: What is it, Johnston!?
Johnston: I've figured out a way to change my fate?
Michael: Really? How!?
Johnston: Well, I'm going to take a satellite and smash it into a comet!
Michael: Smash a satellite into a comet? BRILLIANT!

No, I won't join in this. The only way it could possibly effect me, in my opinion, is if a giant chunk of it came crashing down and killed me.
