Ragnarok, Maple story, Gunz: The Duel, et cetera.

My favorite right now is Maple story it's an awesome 2-D sidescrolling RPG, with cutsie anime looking characters almost none of the monsters have "scary" features, it was designed originally to be fun for all ages I think, I read on the Maple Global site they just updated the entire game pretty much, new user interface, more monsters (I heard) new quests, items, and everything! It's amazing, they really keep this thing up to date, the hackers are at a minimum, I've never actually seen a GM, but they do their work pretty darn well.

Ragnarok is good on the free servers, but it's a monthly fee to play on the "real" server, It's kind of like Maple Story, cutsie monsters at first, but after a while you have these big, mean, monsters. It has a cleaner, higher quality look than maple story, and a much bigger map (I believe, but they are coming out with a sea world in MS soon).

Gunz is kinda...... crappy, they don't update it or fix any bugs, I last played earlier in January, only to find that quest mode (was supposed to eb out in November) hasn't been implemented, and they have more hackers now than EVEEEEEEEEEEER, not to mention there are still bugs all over, like if you alt-tab out of the game you can't get kicked or start a game with the person who alt-tabbed. Other than that, good gameplay, great graphics, use matrix-style fightniing moves, swords, rocket launchers, its like an RPG version of Unreal Tournament. Only no monsters... (until quest mode comes out, and I ehar the goblins have uzis and junk, it sounds so awesome)

Download.

Ragnarok is a huge file, although it's one of the best RPGs out there, they have waaaaay too many updates, and it annoys the crap out of me when the update is redownloading a couple of 10MB files from last August.

Gunz is a bit of a large file, not too bad though, and it used to be that you had to redownload the client with the update (for some people anyways), but they fixed the updater.

Maple Story, extremely compact in comparison to Ragnarok, modeately smaller than Gunz, and the updater fo i is broken, there are hardly any updates though, within the last montht ehre have been about 2, whereas Ragnarok has you updating every week or so, because yo have to update Ro, SakRay, and then the sever your playing on. Maple Story is about 250MB.

Ragnarok is somewhere in the 600s.

Not sure of Gunz, I can't check the site at my school.

Man, I just notied how much I use run-on sentences in my posts. Oh well, inc ase anyone wants to play my lame online games here's some more info.

Maple Story:
www.mapleglobal.com
www.hidden-street.net (for quests, monser, calculators, etc about the game)
I play on server BROA
I have 2 characters
RiderX00 (level 31 cleric)
and
RiderX01 (level 15 magician)

Gunz The Duel:
www.gunzonline.com
I have a level 27 character, I don't use hacks (unlike eveyone else, I'm serious last time I played I joined 3 different games and and ran into about 5 different hackers) I use konodachis and a Rocket Launcher and MG (heavy artillery and fast swords)

Ragnarok Online:
official site is www.ragnarokonline.com
Don't go here, hey charge you per month to play, find a free server. Over legal liabilities I can' really help you find a free server, but I suggest www.top200games.com or a similar site, then go under RPG or Ragnarok (if your lucky enough to have a section like that)

TIPS:
Maple story - mages actually are teh ebst class, jsut have low HP, my level 31 cleric has about 500, a level 31 warrior (fighter, speaman, whatever) would have around upwards of 3000 probably

Gunz - everone uses MGs or SMGs or ocket launches, dont use swords unless you KNOW how to doubletap as second-insinct, or you are in a gladiator match

Ragnarok - I'm not sure, I haven't played in a while, I did okay as a mage though

Yeah, tell me about it.

It's like drugs, fun, addicting, but mostly bad for you, and people don't like hanging out with you when your doing it.

bleh, i was hooked on RO for over 2 years. in the final 6 months i was playing i was on academic exclusion at my college. the semester after i quit i was on the dean's list. MMORPG's literally suck your sould out and turn your brain to mush.. and ppl love them for it. i can admit i sometimes wish i was back in midgard (world of Ragnarok), but then i realize that a lot of people i graduated from high school with are graduating this may, and i still have at least another 18 months to go. these games are fun if u have self control. the bad thing tho is that there is so much to do in these games and it takes forever to really build up a great and respectable character.

and the bit about no one wanting spend time with you when u are playing is soooo true.

Sorry, Human. IE isn't so bad, not for just a silly game, I mean come on, you only have to use IE to download ONE game, that's all.

Annoying thing about MapleStory is that when you close the game it opens up this ad in flash that freezes and won't close until it stops.
