Anyone on this message board is probably smart enough to pull off an act of terrorism if we wanted to. I don't think planning is the hard part, or the bomb making, you can google that. It's recruiting smart enough people to pull off the plan.
And to the Homeland Security people reading this post and opening a file on me, relax, take a deep breath, let it out, now go do something more important.

No, our government is waaaay too incompetent to be able to survey Internet activity with any kind of regularity.
My classmates and I planned terrorist attacks for a college class -- visited an insane number of terrorist websites, learned how to do all sorts of nasty things (believe me, this video is *tame*) -- and my former State Department instructor rolled his eyes when someone said they were worried about being busted. "The FBI has thousands of hours of targeted conversations on tapes that haven't even been listened to. Think they have time to be going after the Internet?!?" Not so much.
