I have a pigskin pickem group that people from the sites I post at join every year. Every week you pick who you think will win the NFL games for the week. If you do really well, ESPN does give prizes...but I have only known 2 people to ever make it into the top 25 in all the years I have done it. Mostly, it is just for fun/bragging rights. It is free, but you need to get an account at espn (which is also free). To join pigskin pickem, go to this site.

We had major problems with ESPN last year...are we doing this again this year, or are we trying another site?

Wasn't Hatrack going to do a yahoo one of these or something? If not, we could try this one again, I guess...

Why is a third-party site needed at all? In 2002, I think, we just did it in a thread. I'd be more likely to participate if it were that way.

Bell, espn does have a college pick thing...but I have never done it, since I really only follow the SEC.
As for problems with ESPN, what problems did people have. I guess I could dig up the post from last year and look, but I am feeling lazy. I believe that this is the 4th year I have run the league that fantasy essentials/TG.com and various other sites take part in and we have not ever had problems. Perhaps it was just some odd glitch then.

I don't really care if it's ESPN or Yahoo or a thread, but let's decide and get it going! I am in the mood to kick some butt this season.

It looks like some people had probs with the invites...but it shouldn't be an issue here, since I used a password rather than an invite system. Hmm, it is odd that some of the people's picks were not registered. I've never had anyone have problems with that before. Perhaps it was a browser issue.
*shrugs* whatever people decide on using will work...it just has to be fast, since the season is starting. I've only used ESPN for picks in the past, but I have use Yahoo for regular fantasy (I don't even know if they have a picks contest)
If people prefer, I can also create a separte hatrack league rather than mixing with the other sites I'm at...I've just never bothered doing separate leagues before since you are allowed 50 teams in a league (at least that is what it was in the past).

I tried using both firefox AND IE...so it wasn't a browser issue, and it happened to several of us so it isn't just someone blowing smoke either...
