Here is where we can talk about gifts we want to send Mrs. M and Andrew and Aerin.

I am planning on making her a diaper duffle. For the decorative embroidery on the outside of the duffle, I want to use the baby girl fashion designs. Scroll down to see them on the hem of a dress, that's what I was thinking of.

The fashion designs just seemed perfect for our Mrs. M.

Any other ideas out there? Maybe those that don't want to make something could coordinate sending money in and getting her a gift certificate somewhere? Thoughts?

I'm going shopping tomorrow for clothes for my new job. I have a feeling something Australian and baby-orientated might just, uh, fall into my shopping bag.

Oh, that's adorable!

Do babies that small need caps? I would love to make a soft little cap for Aerin. I can't spend much right now, but that would be within my means.

Yes! Babies that small definitely need caps, to help keep warm.

If someone will send me the Mrs.M address (I lost it and can't find it) I'll be sending a "Mommy Basket" with some candles, teas, and chocolates.

I'm shrinking the hat I made (it's 100% cotton) tonight to send her, right now, it'd probably fit her at 6 months.

Whatever keeps the little girl warm and comfy during the winter I say, practical and simple.

(Edit: I said little "guy" before, after rereading the thread I realized it was a girl)

I posted the address on Mrs. M's thread itself so it will stay with the baby announcement. Did Mrs. M say what her baby colors were?

(this is mrs m, I'm sure she has them.)

She did, I don't remember, though. It should be in the original thread.

She also said she thinks they're going to keep the "Ladybug" nickname. [Smile]

I'm crocheting what's intended to be a baby afgan now, but it's really simple (single crochet, row after row of single crochet). So, honestly, do you think that will be useful at all? I'm not just asking so that my ego can be stroked, I'm honestly wondering.

Yes, my mom knitted just a plain blanket for my daughter-- no fancy stitches, just very loose knit one, purl one, in variegated yarn, and it's wonderful. [Smile]

Ok, great! Mostly I started working on it because I wanted to work with some of that really soft baby yarn, so it's all soft and feels nice. [Smile]

No, no ,no...not yet.

I was making a joke, not realizing that it might have sounded like an announcment. [Big Grin]

We ARE planning on starting one soon though, maybe within a year or two, once we settle down after the move to FL. [Big Grin]

As a matter of fact, that is part of why we are moving now, once we have kids we wouldn't have any money left for a move like that. [Big Grin]
