So I just purchased the DVD's and watched them all in a space of about 36 hours. The movie's coming out this weekend, and I'm looking with some distaste on the prospect of seeing it two or three times by myself. If there's anyone within 150 miles of Yuma I'd be willing to make the drive for any kind of get-together for the movie. I'd even be willing to host, although I can't think why anyone would deliberately come to Yuma if they could see the movie anywhere else.

Anyone interested?

That just made me laugh and laugh and laugh. [Big Grin]

Although I would come to Yuma this weekend if I could, just for this occasion. Alas... [Frown]

It depends on when you want to go see them. I'm actually planning to go to Yuma sometime in October (when will depend somewhat on my husband's work schedule). All I know is that it will be somewhere between the 8th and the 23rd. Perhaps I could go with you on one of your later visits.

Of course, I haven't watched Firefly yet, although I have been meaning to. This could be the motivation I need to actually go do it. And seeing a movie in Yuma actually works well for me because my parents are a built-in babysitter for my daughter.

Here is the site for the AZ faction of the Browncoats. I'm sure they've got shindigs cooking for this weekend.

Oooh! I'll try that.

And CW, you would be welcome and I own the DVD's if you wanted to borrow them while you're here. My parents are coming to visit sometime in that same timespan, so I may be taking them to see it anyway, and you could join us. [Smile]

I live in Yuma and I'm planning on seeing the movie with my mom, but I wouldn't mind meeting a Jatraquero in the process. [Smile]

That would be cool. I'm not yet coming up with listings for times, although I know it's opening at the Palms theater. We could make arrangements -- I'll email you.

[Edit: 100 posts! In just over a year, it seems.]

Cool. Let me know when they are planning to come and maybe we can coordinate. My email is in my profile.

I'm going to see about renting the DVDs. I doubt my mother would be particularly thrilled if I spent the entire visit watching a tv show. Thanks for the offer, though [Smile]

Hey Jemmy, I e-mailed you but I'm not sure if you got it. It looks like they'll be playing Serenity at the Main Street Cinema, not at the Palms. Show times are 1:15, 4:00, 6 something or other and 9:45, I think.

Anyway, check your e-mail if you get a chance.

I was going to bump this...

I'm going to be tagging along with the AZ Browncoats to the 7:10 showing at Cine Capri in Scottsdale. then most of them are wandering off to a bar they have gotten set aside for festivities. Should be a blast. Any other 'rackers who are going to this one, post here and I'll try to meet up with you.
