YAY. I can watch the Battle of the Heroes again instead of just listening to the music and imagining it.
And I can see/hear the best opening 20 seconds of any movie, ever. Which IMHO the opening of Revenge is...the drum beats, the two Jedi fighters sweeping across the screen...the camera follows to reveal the battle...and then the militaristic rendition of the Force theme...utterly perfect.
And then I have to wait an hour for anything else in the movie to be near as interesting...

I'll need to pick up this as well as a DVD copy of Phantom Menace in order to have all 6 on DVD (I have a VHS copy of Phantom Menace because back when it came out I still didn't have a DVD player of my own).

Will they have a button to skip the allegedly romantic dialogue that sounds like it was written by an unimaginative twelve-year-old?

I knew someone who bought a pirated copy from Thailand. I don't know him anymore. Aren't you proud of me? I only pick the RIGHT friends.

What I really want, is to have copies of the ORIGINAL cuts of the first three on DVD. Not that I don't like the revamped ones, I do. But I want the originals in a more preservable format than VHS tape.

I don't have VHS of the Special Edition, don't really want it either. I WANT DVD of the originals. *pouts* Maybe if fans made enough of a fuss Lucas would release them.

Lucas doesn't give a crap what the fans want. To him, the originals are unfinished junk, which is why he's always tinkering with them. He's said in interviews that they'll never be finished until he dies.

I heard from a friend that original, untampered Star Wars IV-VI DVD's were in the works. I'll hunt around, ask him where he heard it, and get back to everyone.

I'd rather they just include a button to make the movie directed by someone other than George Lucas.

Yeah, can someone explain to me why Padme falls in love with creepy stalker Anakin in Ep II?
Seriously, from the dialogue, he sounds like the kind of guy who'd sit outside your house in his car all night and write you creepy poetry about how you'll learn to love him someday, which he leaves in your mailbox with a rose and a kitten's head.
...then one morning, someone finds your body in his freezer.

And way hotter as well.
A friend sent me her cousin's bootleg copy out of the blue a couple weeks ago, so I've gotten over the excitement of watching all six in a row - I had to grade essays. I will, however, look forward to the "hidden" blooper reel and the deleted scenes, as well as just looking at my DVD collection and saying "Dang, that's a good lookin' series!"

I know the acting and dialogue was wooden, and Lucas is a miserable director. But this is a universe and a story that I care a lot about, and I can't wait to have all the movies.

I'm interested. I just wish Lucas would remove the "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" from the dvd and make my life better.

Went in with friends to buy the original trilogy on DVD from eBay last year, apparently a copy of the laser disc versions (which also meant extras and behind the scenes stuff that hasn't been reprinted since).

Ep 3 is a bad camera copy. We have to take it back because it stops in some spots.
quid, I have to admit that I'm actually very bothered by your cavalier attitude towards widespread piracy. I understand that "everyone does it" out there, but that's hardly a justification.

I have the original three episodes on LaserDisc. I bought each one of them as they were released. It's good to have the "untinkered with" versions around to compare with.
Still trying to decide if I'm going to stay up until midnight and go pick up Ep. III or stop by Wally World on my way to work tomorrow morning.
I guess both seem a little eager and fanish.
